What would Jesus pick… cherry or new car smell?

February 28, 2007

Each week a car wash in Elgin (where I live) gives free car washes to people with a specific name. I enjoy driving by to see the unusual names they pick… this one caught my attention! I don’t have a funny or quippy comment about the photo… maybe you do!

I have yet to see Michael on the sign. Probably a good decision on their part.

Monkey Matters

I found a website called www.monkeymatters.com for the International Primate Association that posted instructions for putting your monkey on parade. I don’t own a monkey, but if I did, I would follow these instructions carefully. I think this is a semi-serious article, and contains helpful tips for the monkey enthusiast.

I especially like the voice of experience in this comment, “One monkey is so much easier to control and protect in a parade situation. Resist the temptation to take two, even if both are “good” monkeys.”
Amen to that. You put more than one of them together with all the fan fare and candy, all hell will break loose.

Elisha Video

February 24, 2007

I decided to post a video that my friend Aaron Pedersen and I made a few years ago. It recounts a strange story from the life of Elisha, where he is jeered by youth from the town because of his baldness. Elisha calls on some bears to punish the youth… a harsh lesson. This is story is taken from 2 Kings 2. We used this video to discuss the complex nature of God and scripture… this story is tragic, humorous (to some), and mysterious all at the same time.

Fly Guy

I found this little entertaining site a few years ago by accident called Fly Guy. I love it!!

I am home sick today, and I’ve found that flying through space is good medicine for the body and soul!
The music and sound effects are great, too. Make sure you go all the way to the top! Psychedelic!

Let me know your favorite part it!

tapping into a new market…

If you have ever played Whirly Ball, you know it is spine-jarring, bone-crushing fun. It combines bumper cars, basketball (sort of) and Trac-ball. Trac-ball was that funky game from the seventies that you played in between Jarts (Lawn Darts) and Frisbee Golf.

I wish I still hard our authentic Jarts set… it later got banned because kids were getting impaled by there giant metal darts! Good fun. Whamo had to be printing their own money back then… that is before the lawsuits.

Anyway, I just recieved an email from our friends at the local Whirly ball Establishment inviting me to be a part of their Bar/Bat Mitzvah Open House this Sunday. I love their tag-line “Throw a Party that Kicks Tuchas!” The image of ten budding tweeners, donning there kippahs, crashing into each other is a very funny scene in my mind!

Tiny Toe Lint

February 21, 2007

toe.jpg

My son Angelo is nineteen months old now, and his personality is really shining. He is really fun (and challenging).

He likes to clean… this morning he was ‘swiffering’ our bedroom, and doing a pretty good job. He covers every corner of the room… a real stickler for detail. He cries when you take the broom away from him!

I was holding him in my lap this morning and he pulled his sock off and began picking sock lint from between each toe and putting it in his hair! He started doing this when he was just a few months old… I suppose it is better than putting things in his mouth!

Usually when finds lint or tiny specs of dirt on the floor he will go out of his way to hand them to you. He notices everything!! We are pretty sure we know where he gets this detailed obsessive nature from…
